We were brought on to curate the brand for Americano during a rebrand and light design refresh in Lincoln Park. The goal was to clearly define who the concept was for and build something that could drive consistent neighborhood traffic in a market known for young professionals, longtime residents, and an active dining scene.
Americano wasn’t meant to feel like a hole-in-the-wall bar, but it also wasn’t positioning itself as a formal, elevated dining destination. The opportunity was to create a reliable neighborhood spot that felt polished, social, and approachable for the Lincoln Park demographic.
Our approach focused on clarifying that middle ground. We introduced playful iconography across menus, team member tees, and brand touchpoints to bring personality into the space and create visual consistency. The system allowed the brand to feel contemporary and intentional while still keeping a sense of fun. The result was a concept that felt confident in its identity — a neighborhood staple designed for repeat guests, casual meetups, and an approachable dining experience that fit naturally within the community.
A neighborhood concept, clearly defined.
